Today, in the United States of America we celebrate Memorial Day. Memorial Day (originally known as Decoration Day) is a federal holiday in the United States for honoring and mourning the U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.
As a wonderful example of a way to honor our fallen soldiers, I am sharing a video with you taken of a Marine who served his country for 10 years before retiring to the central coast of California. This fine Marine takes his friends and co-workers on a 5 mile sunrise hike during Memorial Day weekend. At each mile marker, he stops and reads a fallen soldier citation.
At this stop, he honors a a fellow Marine, who posthumously received the medal of honor for his bravery and valor during the Korean conflict. Please take a moment to listen to it, and remember all our service men and women who have given their lives in honor of our great country.
